    Default Long delay black box

    Hallo,
the story goes that this should be pakistany factory made 12 hour delay mechanism.
    Is that correct?
    Dimensions 10 x 5,5 x 4 cm.
    Uses 9V battery.

    Thanks, Bob

    Till somebody knows better:

Is that maybe an IED/EOD training device?
The sockets look like standard types and are kinda useless on life/service timers.

There are some companies making such training items and I assume there is quite some demand nowadays.

when looking at the electronics, I can see only some resistors, transistors and capacitors and maybe a diode. I see no way to built a long delay mechnism with these elements. To me it looks like a very primitive amplifier which maybe can be turned on by removing these security plugs - for what purpose ever? A circuit diagram of this device or holding it in the hand, and every electrician can tell you the purpose as it is a really simple construction. But with the foto only it is hard to follow all the wires and connnections on the PCB.

A possibility insists, that the diode with the electricity of the battery or from the 2 of the 4 plugs interrupts the passageway of the other plugs. If the battery decreases (the resistors uses electricity) or it passes a surge, the transistor switches.
Pakistan is known for easy, good circuits in many IED's.

one other question is, why are there 4 Plugs? Wouldn't be two enough for a delay mechanism?

Nothing helps, we need the circuit.

    I already asked for it.

Thanks for the answers so far.

One thought it is from the US CIA Afhgan days mid late 80's. used as a firing device for a back pack mine clearance system. Project called Light Foot. The 2 sets of connectors, one for the rocket and second to set off the line charge, timer yugo.jpg But I found this pic in my folder and listed as a Former Yugo timer. The safety pins look similar. timer yugo.jpg

    Thanks a lot!
I will pass the info and see if there was enough time to produce the circuit diagram

I just confirmed, your item is a old CIA firing devices used for the Light Foot mine clearance system, given to the Afghans fighting the russians. and functions as I described. am hoping for the schematic today.

Now the item I have listed as a yugo timer still needs verified.
