    Default Werid short SD-4 HL

    Hi,

    Any Ideas?
Short tail, top head have other shape, and no fuze cover with holes like in regular modell.
fuze vane is plastic made (not Zink like usual).

I've never seen that before. I think it is meant to allow more bombs to be packed in one clusterbomb container
    Very interesting, thanks for posting

My german ww2 SD-4 HL bombs family, some progress - but still some versions are missing. From right - 1#; Probably early version (prototype?) with short tail and plastic made fuze vane, (normall they are Zink made) and without fuze cover. 2# version with short tail, but with normal fuze (zink vane), and long fuze cover with wind holes. 3# "Regular" version from 1944 with long tail. 4# Tail from SD-10 HL prototype bomb. There was another version with shorter - aluminium made - fuze cover and long tail too. All was find in Luftwaffe Erprobungsstelle in Poland.
